The beach, shops, restaurants and the Bournemouth International Centre are only a short walk away. Bournemouth boasts excellent shopping and dining facilities and the area is filled with places of interest, set in some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain. MapEating outWith our central location, there is an extensive range of restaurants offering Chinese, Indian, Italian, Portuguese cuisine and, of course, traditional British Fish and Chips - all within easy walking distance. Places to visitBournemouth is an ideal base to explore the beautiful counties of Dorset and Hampshire, whether by car or by public transport. The New Forest (recently designated a National Park) and Dorset's fossil-rich Jurassic Coast" (now declared a World Heritage site) are within easy reach. Depending on the time of year, there are various boat trips available from Bournemouth Pier to Swanage or round the Dorset Lakes for example. Swanage has its own steam railway running to Corfe Castle if you want a bit of nostalgia! In Bournemouth itself, you can enjoy many attractions such as the wonderful Compton Acres or the Oceanarium. You can also soar above Bournemouth in the "Bournemouth Eye", the tethered balloon in the Lower Gardens.
